Penny Dyer and Gywneth Strong
How to get inside the mouth of an accent.

Penny Dyer is one of the most respected international film and theatre voice coaches and has worked with many famous actors such as Nicole Kidman, Reece Witherspoon and Helen Mirren.

She has recently collaborated with actor Gywneth Strong, known for her role as Cassandra in ‘Only Fools and Horses’, on a set of six vocal coaching CDs for actors, called ‘Access Accents’. They give tips on how to speak Geordie, Cockney, Yorkshire, Welsh, American and Received Pronunciation English.

Penny and Gwyneth join Jane to talk about how important it is to inhabit the psychological space of an accent and the trials and tribulations of using accents in theatre roles. They will also try out some of Penny’s techniques on Jane and see if she can get to grips with a new accent on air!
