This year sees the 50th anniversary of Christian Dior’s death and the 60th anniversary of the launch of his ‘New Look’ fashion collection in 1947. For many it signalled a return to luxury and elegance in haute couture following the austerity of the Second World War. To celebrate, a new exhibition is opening at the Victoria and Albert Museum. To talk about what became known as 'The Golden Age of Couture', Jenni is joined by the exhibition curator Claire Willcox and by Princess George Galitzine, who, as Jean Dawnay, modelled Dior’s clothes.
The Golden Age of Couture is on at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London 22 Sept 2007 - 6 Jan 2008
