Ines Wurth has mixed feelings about growing up in a Communist country. She was aware of the very real restrictions the state imposed on them, but also enjoyed the security it provided. In her solo show, “I Miss Communism”, which she co-wrote and performs, she explores the impact that Communism had on her life in Croatia, her escape to Los Angeles to become an actress, and her return to her homeland. She joins Ritula with Professor Mihaela Miroiu, who experienced the much more brutal form of Communism in Romania.
“I Miss Communism” is on at The Hackney Empire Studio in London, until 23 September 2007.
