India Remembered08 Aug 2007
Lord Louis Mountbatten, Lady Edwina Mountbatten and Lady Pamela Mountbatten
Lady Pamela Mountbatten and her account of the transfer of power.

At just 17, Lady Pamela Mountabatten accompanied her parents – Lord and Lady Mountbatten – out to India. Her father had been appointed as the last Viceroy, with the mandate to hand over the “jewel in the crown” of the British Empire. Now, as Lady Pamela Hicks, she’s written India Remembered - based on her diaries and published to coincide with the sixtieth anniversary of Indian Independence. Lady Pamela joins Jenni to recall the momentous events of that time.

‘India Remembered' by Pamela Mountbatten and India Hicks, published by Pavilion books, ISBN 9781862057593
