Lavender food
Its uses in food and medicine.

The Romans brought it to Britain and Queen Elizabeth I drank it in tea, saying it helped her to sleep. Yet lavender as a herb used in cooking has been overtaken in popularity by rosemary, thyme and oregano. Now that the lavender fields are in full bloom, we visit the lavender maze at Yorkshire Lavender and Jenni is joined by masterchef Sarah Beattie and by Jekka McVicar, author of Jekka’s Complete Herb Book, to discuss the history and uses of lavender.
