Does flexible working help or hinder female doctors?
The Chief Medical Officer has said that while women make up two thirds of new medical students, they still make up less than one third of consultants. Studies show that many female doctors now admit that they regret entering the profession in the first place. While, the NHS was one of the early pioneers in offering flexible working, is it now doing enough to address the problems that impede women in pursuing a high flying medical career?
