Debbie Curtis
A history of women who swing.

Debbie Curtis was twenty one when her father died. The legacy he left was the ‘Eddie Curtis Radio Big Band’ which he had set up in 1972. Debbie, herself an accomplished musician, decided to take it over and in doing so became one of a select group of women big band leaders. Now, she is appearing at the London Palladium for a ‘Sunday Night Swing Session'. Debbie talks to Ritula about her career, and the wider place of women in the history of Big Band music, with trombonist and broadcaster Sheila Tracy.

Talking Swing by Sheila Tracy is published by Mainstream £17.50 (Hardback).
