New research shows that it is more difficult for doctors to diagnose complex sources of pain in women than in men. This is because the different ways men and women describe their pain to doctors. While female patients give doctors brief and vague illustrations of their complaints, men describe their pain in an extremely concrete manner. Does this mean that men are at an advantage with diagnoses and therapy? Ritula is joined by Prof. Florian Menz from the University of Vienna who lead to the research to find out what should be done to make women better at describing their pain and doctors more aware of this problem?
