Stevie Davies – The Eyrie12 Feb 2007
Stevie Davies’s new novel tells the story of three women from different generations, who end up living in a converted mansion on the South Wales Coast. Dora is an ex-Communist radical who lost her husband in the Spanish Civil War; Eirlys seems, at first, to be an innocuous busy body - but turns out to have a politically committed past of her own; and, Hannah, in her twenties, is escaping a dead marriage and tracing her roots. Together they explore difficult family relationships – both natural and adopted – the vestiges of community in modern Britain, and the possibility of righting past wrongs.

Martha talks to Stevie Davies about her tenth novel.

The Eyrie is published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson ISBN: 978 0 297 85141 7
