Every year about 103,000 women suffer a heart attack. Heart disease kills four times more women than breast cancer, and yet it’s the latter which seems to worry us and receive media attention. Many women are unaware that they may suffer different heart attack symptoms from men. Women also wait longer before calling an ambulance.
Martha Kearney talks to Judy O’Sullivan, a cardiac nurse from the British Heart Foundation, and Kay McCaw who experienced a heart attack two years ago.
