Gender Agenda 2: Review of gender equality within the police service30 Oct 2006
It’s five years since a report by the British Association for Women in Policing looked at gender inequality within the British police service. Today they’ll be launching their review. But with only 10% of women officers at the rank of Chief Inspector and above and reports of women still being issued with men’s uniforms, how much has been achieved?

Jenni talks to Superintendent Ellie Bird of the British Transport Police and one of the authors of the review and to Prof. Jennifer Brown, Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Surrey, who has conducted long term research into women and policing.
