Small Island - Windrush Inheritance18 Sep 2006

For the next three weeks, the Woman's Hour drama is Small Island, an adaptation of the multi-award winning novel by Andrea Levy. It has been dramatised for the programme by Patricia Cumper, herself a novelist and playwright.

Andrea's parents arrived in the UK in the late 1940s, and Andrea was born here. Patricia's parents returned to Jamaica after the War, which is where she was born. So how do their perspectives on their Jamaican heritage differ? And how much do they believe Britain has changed since the HMS Windrush arrived nearly sixty years ago.

Andrea and Patricia join Jenni to discuss the issues.
