3D Baby scans18 August 2006
New technology now means not only can scans show lifelike pictures of your baby in the womb but also an image on DVD as they move around - sometimes sucking their thumb or yawning. And a whole industry is growing up around these non-medical 3D and 4D scans.

However, doctors and midwives are becoming concerned. They argue that these scans could even be dangerous for the baby or the mother, if there is not a doctor on hand to pick up problems which they may reveal.

Martha is joined by Consultant midwife Amanda Sullivan and by Professor Stuart Campbell.
