Parenting
Gay Parenting11 August 2006
If you're an Archers fan you'll have heard the ongoing tensions between Ian and Adam over Ian's desire to have a child.

A generation ago, unless they have been in a previous heterosexual relationship, gay men and lesbians were unlikely to have children. Now we are seeing the growth of new family structures - with up to two mums, two dads and a possible eight grandparents.

But, without a blueprint for how to make these new family setups work, what complications - both practical and emotional - are gay parents encountering? Martha Kearney is joined by two gay parents with very different experiences.
