Handelfest to mark the 250th anniversary of Handel’s death.

Handel is one of the greatest creators of female characters in opera. To mark the 250th anniversary of his death, English Touring Opera are putting on a Handelfest this autumn - a travelling festival of five of his operas. To discuss Handel’s female roles, and the important female figures in his life, Jenni is joined by the Soprano, Rachel Nicholls and Dr. Suzanne Aspden, lecturer, and Fellow in Music at Jesus College, Oxford. Rachel will also be singing live, accompanied by Andrew McMillan on the harpsichord.
