One of America's finest living poets on her latest collection

Sharon Olds is one of America's finest living poets, and in her latest collection 'One Secret Thing' she broaches fresh territory - the honour and dishonour of war and the death of a mother. She has long been renowned for paying scrupulous attention to the experience of the human body, to motherhood, and to sexuality. Her poems have been called 'pure fire in the hands'. She joins Jenni to discuss her motivation for writing, and her nomination for this year's prestigious Forward Prize.

'One Secret Thing' is published by Jonathan Cape ISBN-13 978-0224087841
