This year marks the sixtieth anniversary of the formation of the modern Commonwealth. In celebration, there will be a special exhibition of the outfits worn by the Queen during her Commonwealth Tours. The exhibition at Buckingham Palace brings together twenty eight dresses worn by the Her Majesty over the past six decades. The exhibition includes some of the dazzling jewellery, as well as some of the gifts presented to the Queen, ranging from a whale's tooth to traditional Maori feather cloaks. Sheila McClennon explores the exhibition with Caroline de Guitaut, Assistant Curator of Works of Art at the Royal Collection.
The Summer Opening of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace from 26 July - 30 September, 2009.
