Since the all-girl electric string quartet Escala first appeared on ITV’s Britain's Got Talent earlier in the year, they’ve clinched a £1.5 million record deal with Simon Cowell, had a megawatt makeover and recorded their debut album, including one track with rock legend Slash. With trade-mark glamorous dresses, long legs and flowing hair, has caused some critics to accuse them of dumbing down.
