playing the title role of Noma in Bellini's classic opera
The English Touring Opera is celebrating their 30th anniversary by presenting a concert performance of Norma, Bellini’s epic bel canto classic. Set in Roman occupied Gaul it is a tale of betrayal, jealousy, near infanticide and druid sacrifice. The protagonist Norma is played by Yvonne Howard. She joins Jane to talk about her role as the druid priestess in what is considered to be one of the most difficult in the soprano repertoire.
