Jacqueline Wilson
Her teenage years told through extracts from her diaries

Former Children’s Laureate, Jacqueline Wilson, has written some 90 books, with UK sales of over 25 million. Her novels are told from a child’s point of view, and tackle a range of harrowing issues from divorce and being in care, to having a mum who’s a manic depressive, or seeing your best friend die. She has now written the second part of her autobiography, based on her diaries as a 14 year old. She joins Jane to discuss the dating, dancing, dreams and dilemmas of her young teenage years in the 1950s and 60s.

My Secret Diary – Dating, Dancing, Dreams and Dilemmas is published by Doubleday ISBN: 9780385614429.
