Lance Corporal Martyn Compton’s life changed beyond recognition when he was blown up, set alight and shot in a Taliban ambush in Afghanistan on the 1st of August 2006. Three of colleagues were killed in the attack and Martyn’s survival has been described as a miracle. He suffered third-degree burns to 75% of his body, his thigh was shattered, he lost his ears, his nose, his hair and his eyelids were fused inside-out. Many attribute his survival to his then-fiancée, now-wife, Michelle. The couple join Jenni to share their intimate story.
