The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography announces its latest 215 entrants all people who are no longer living. It includes 50 women, such as Mo Mowlam, who have left their mark on contemporary Britain. Regularly updated the dictionary now contains the details of over 56,000 lives, 5700 of them women. Jenni discusses the criteria for inclusion and this year’s new entrants with Dr Laurence Goldman, the current editor, and Professor Anne Worrall, who wrote the entry for Agnes Curran, newly included this year, the first woman governor of a male prison.
