From Mom Racer to American Politics

The actress Susan Sarandon has had a long and distinguished career – from playing the feminist heroine in Thelma and Louise to winning an Oscar for her moving portrayal of the Death Row visitor Sister Helen Prejean in Dead Man Walking. However, she is also known for her social and political activism – a committed Democrat, supporter of gay rights and a vocal opponent of the Iraq war. Susan talks to Jane about her latest role, in the film Speed Racer, her longevity as a successful actress, and why, as a feminist she is not supporting Hillary Clinton.
