The jazz singer sings from her new album Breakfast on the Morning Tram

Stacey Kent is famous for providing fresh and personal interpretations of classic songs. The jazz singer’s new album includes original compositions for the first time. Lyrics for the title track of Breakfast on the Morning Tram and for four other songs on the album were written by Booker prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro, and the music was composed by her husband, the acclaimed tenor saxophonist Jim Thomlinson.

Jane talks to Stacey about the collaboration behind her new album.

Stacey Kent's new album Breakfast on the Morning Tram will be performed at Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London on 1-3 November 2007 and then at other venues around the country.
