Janey Godley02 Nov 2007
Janey Godley - copyright Steve Ullathorne - UK
Scottish actress, comedienne and author - on tour.

Janey Godley has been described as “Scotland’s funniest woman” and “the most outspoken female stand-up in Britain.” She grew up in Glasgow, and her autobiography tells the story of her troubled childhood. She married young – dressed in a £58 nylon dress and plastic shoes – and for many years she and her husband ran a pub in one of the roughest parts of the city. Then she discovered comedy and now she performs and writes for a living. Janey will be telling Jane about her extraordinary life, her comic inspirations and how she always knew she would win through.

‘Handstands In The Dark’ by Janey Godley is published by Ebury Press. ISBN – 9780091908775
