Gordon Brown's Women29 June 2007
Jacqui Smith
How have woman fared in Brown's new cabinet?

In 1997 the talk was of the ‘Blair Babes', but 10 years on and with Gordon Brown moving next door to number 10, his major cabinet reshuffle reflects a new era in British politics. But how well have the women done? Harriet Harman is the Leader of the House of Commons and Jaqui Smith is now in charge of the Home Office, but the number of women in the cabinet has almost halved from eight to five. To discuss 'Brown's babes', Jane is joined by political journalists Julia Hartley-Brewer and Rachel Sylvester.
