Jessie Wallace is the actress famous for playing Eastender, Kat Slater. Now she is playing another East End heroine. As part of BBC4’s Edwardian Season, Jessie is treading the boards as the legendary music hall star, Marie Lloyd in a film dramatisation of the singer’s life. It’s a tale which contrasts Marie’s fame and career success, with her unhappy private life. Jessie joins Ritula to talk about Marie’s work and life, which in many ways is similar to Jessie’s own story.
