Last year, Julie Feeney won the Choice Music Prize – the Irish equivalent of the Mercury Prize - for her debut album, 13 Songs. Hard to believe, but she not only wrote and arranged all the songs, she played most of the instruments and produced and mixed all the tracks. She then went on to do design the album cover, do all her own PR, and she financed everything herself through a series of bank loans.
Julie Feeney joins Martha to play live and to talk about what drives her to be, what cynics might call, ‘too clever by half’.
