Nada Awar Jarrar
Novelist Nada Awar Jarrar talks to Martha about her latest book Dreams of Water. Set during the civil war in Lebanon, it follows Aneesa, who, unable to live with the abduction of her brother during the conflict, leaves for the UK. When she meets another exile here, they share a feeling for their homeland and Aneesa reluctantly returns home to rekindle the sense of belonging that she left behind. Nada also tells Martha about her own experiences during the bombing of Beirut in the summer of 2006 and why she decided not to leave.

Dreams of Water is published by Harper Collins at £14.99. ISBN: 978-0-00-722195-0
