Getting Pregnant Special10 Jan 2007
Pregnant Woman
Today's programme is devoted to getting pregnant. When is the right time to try? Mel Giedroyc will be telling us about how she ‘persuaded’ her husband to have a child and Martha will be finding out the facts about fertility, how you can maximise your chances and how long should you expect to try for.

We'll be looking at lifestyle- Louise Adamson visits complementary therapist Jacqui Jarosy, who uses techniques such as yoga, reflexology and visualisation to help women who are trying to get pregnant.

It is estimated that one in seven couples in the UK have difficultly conceiving. Martha will be discussing at what point should they seek advice, what help is available and how to choose a fertility clinic.

Joining Martha in the studio will be a panel of experts - Professor Lesley Regan, head of obstetrics and gynaecology at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington; counsellor and psychosexual therapist Carol Martin-Sperry; complimentary fertility expert Zita West, and Prof Peter Braude, Head of Women's Health at King's College London and Clinical Director at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, and we’ll have your tips and experiences too.

Mel Giedroyc's book "Going Ga Ga" is published by Ebury Press on the 4th Jan 2007 ISBN: 978-0-09-190592.
