Public Attitudes to IVF

A You Gov poll of public attitudes to IVF has shown that nearly 60 per cent of respondents think egg and sperm donors should be entitled to anonymity – which is at odds with current rules. Nearly fifty per cent of people think there should be an age limit of 44 for women seeking IVF – and over 30 percent think the same age limit should be applied to men.

In today's progamme we'll be looking at the findings in detail. Jenni will be joined by Khadija Ibrahim, Director of the Progress Educational Trust, who commissioned the poll, and IVF pioneer Lord Robert Winston who’s new BBC series follows couples as they try to have children by assisted means.

A Child Against All Odds begins on Tuesday 14 November on BBC One at 9pm.
