The Soprano Catherine Bott has long been acknowledged for her recitals of early vocal music. Today she sees the release of her latest album, "Convivencia" containing material that she herself had the opportunity not only to perform but also compile. Translated as "the Co-existence", the album's songs refer to a period in Spain when Catholics, Muslims and Jews lived side by side for long peaceful periods.
Giving a chance to hear extracts from the album, Catherine will be joining Jenni in the studio, alongside the Cultural Historian Dr Tess Knighton, to discuss the motivations and meanings behind this choice of songs, and to reflect on this remarkable period in Spanish history.
Catherine Bott's Convivencia will be released on 31st October 2006 on Fred (Label) Ltd.
