Bel Mooney on her new novel07 Aug 2006
Thirty years ago the writer and broadcaster Bel Mooney gave birth to a stillborn child. Now she has described the experience in her new novel, The Invasion of Sand. Set in the Australian outback, the book tells the story of barmaid Bernie Molloy, the two male lodgers she takes on in her bungalow, and the secret pasts they all hide.

Jenni talks to Bel about her life, her career, and her experience of stillbirth.

The Invasion Of Sand, published by Severn House on 14 August, ISBN 0-7278-9157-X
