Cucumber sandwiches, Victoria sponge, or scones with jam and clotted cream: afternoon tea is an English staple. It is also experiencing a renaissance with traditional tea rooms in London Hotels such as the Ritz, Claridges and The Dorchester booked up weeks in advance.
To explore the history of afternoon tea and to explain its renewed popularity, Jenni is joined by tea writer and consultant Jane Pettigrew. Renaud Gregoire from Claridges, (winners of this year's Top London Tea Award), is on hand to serve them.
