Elif Shafak, leading Turkish novelist30 May 2006
Jenni will be talking to one of Turkey 's leading novelists, Elif Shafak, who is also an outspoken commentator on women's issues in the Middle East. Her novels have caused controversy in Turkey because they deal with taboo subjects such as incest. She will be discussing her new novel "The Gaze", which tells the story of an overweight woman and her dwarf lover, who decide to swap roles and reasess society's attitudes towards them.
