Music
Cecilia Bartoli25 May 2006
Growing up as the daughter of two opera singers, world renowned mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli initially decided against a career as a singer and aspired first to be a flamenco dancer and then a trombone player. But her voice won out in the end and it’s taken her to the top of her profession – she’s now one of the world’s great divas and her record sales compete with those of Pavarotti.

She joins Jenni Murray in Manchester.
