Visual
Tracey Emin, female artists and discrimination15 Mar 2006
The Turner Prize nominee believes that no matter how acclaimed or successful a woman artist is, her work will almost always sell for less than her male counterparts.

In a new documentary for Channel 4’s Artshock series, Tracey Emin explores what she sees as the cultural, social and economic reasons why women artists are discriminated against.

She examines the life choices that women artists have to make and reflects on the sacrifices she feels she has made in her own life for her art. Jenni Murray asks her why she felt it was so important to make the programme.

Artshock is on Channel 4 tonight.
