As the Today Programme approaches its 50th anniversary, we've been asking the people who share our birthday to share their stories about the times we've lived through together.

For people who were born on the 28th October 1957:
We want to help you set up blogs and photo-sharing accounts so that you can post pictures and memories online. You can find out how to join in here.

We'll be featuring the best of the stories and memories here on the site, and also using your memories of specific events and social phenomena ON AIR as part of our birthday celebrations.

If you're 50 on 28th October - or know someone who is - please do email us.

For other listeners who want to share their memories of the last 50 years with us:
Join the Memoryshare community and help to build a compelling timeline of memories, searchable both by date and by theme.

We reckon about 1600 people were probably born in the UK the same day we first broadcast, and we'd like as many as possible to contribute to our national online scrapbook and tell their stories about their lives as they approach fifty.

Come back again soon. The project will build and grow as more and more of the Today Generation contribute their stories and pictures from the past half-century.
