 Olympic torch
Two of our reporters, Kate Clark and Polly Billington, set off on a mission to find out how easy it is to get to two potential Olympic cities: London and Paris.
They both started off from Ashford International station in Kent. Polly Billington continued on her way to Stade de France in Paris while Kate Clarke travelled down to Stratford in London.
It is the last day of the International Olympic Committee in London. Its members have been to a number of lectures on the proposed plans to organise the event in London, they have seen the site and drove through the city to test the possible transport conditions between different venues.
We too have decided to test the travel conditions and our reporters are here to share their experiences.

Kate Clark is heading North on the South Eastern train to London. She will be arriving at the London Bridge station and then take the Jubilee line to Stratford.
Polly Billington is going to take the Euro Star and go through the Euro tunnel to France.

Kate Clark is still on the train. She has just passed Tunbridge Wells.
Polly Billington has been on the Euro Star for 20 minutes now. Everyone around her is asleep.

Kate Clarke has just arrived at Stratford. She is not at the stadium, though, as it has not been built yet.
Polly Billington has just got off the train in Paris and is getting the suburban train to Stade de France. This part of the journey should take only two minutes.

Kate Clark is in Stratford at the building site. She is amazed to get there at all.
Polly Billington just got to Stade de France. It was very difficult to find as the directions are rather confusing. But she has managed to get to the building site, even though ten minutes behind Kate.
Additional costs
Despite the minute time difference in the travel, one also has to consider the cost of living in each of the cities and how prepared London and Paris are for the influx of potential Olympic tourists.
At the end of the day, though, the final decision lies with the International Olympic Committee.
