France's top terror Judge warns of increasing threat to europe.
The most senior anti-terrorism judge in France has warned that after the London bombings in July the threat of more attacks is still increasing.
In an interview with Today's James Naughtie's, Judge Jean Louis Bruguiere warned that he was pessimistic about Europe's ability to get on top of this problem in the next two to three years, though he was confident about success in the longer term.
Judge Bruguiere also said he feared that Muslim extremists from Britain and other European countries will learn terror skills from taking part in the insurgency in Iraq which they could use to stage terrorist attacks when they return to their homelands.
In an interview the Judge also entered the debate about the scope of powers needed to fight terrorism.
Unlike British judiciary, Judge Bruguiere has investigative powers and can direct police operations. He first came to international attention in 1994 when he hunted down the world's most notorious terrorist Carlos The Jackal.
