Sue MacGregor presents the series which reunites a group of people intimately involved in a moment of modern history.
This edition features the British Antarctic Survey scientists who established the Halley Bay station 50 years ago. The aim was to conduct scientific research, including measuring ozone in the stratosphere. Little did they know that their work was to have a worldwide impact in 1985 with the discovery of a hole in the ozone layer.
