Later this week Dmitry Medvedev will be sworn in as the next president of Russia, succeeding Vladimir Putin.
But what's happening to ordinary life in Russia, a long way down from the oligarchs and the politicians who make the headlines?
There's a terrific economic boom as money flows in from oil and gas exports. But it's not just the oligarchs who are making money in the new Russia. The new found wealth is flowing to an emerging consumer middle class, quite new to Russia.
They tell Peter Day how they are feeling more secure in their jobs, buying apartments, spending their money, and saving it too.
The programme braves the hideous traffic jams in Moscow to vist new shopping malls, vast skyscrapers and ordinary homes to hear from teachers, people running their own businesses and those offering services in the new Russia.
They speak about how their lives have changed since the days of Communism and the chaotic 1990s which followed. | | | Contributors:

We try to make ear-grabbing programmes about the whole world of work, public and private, from vast corporations to modest volunteers.
In Business is all about change. New ways of work and new technologies are challenging most of the assumptions by which organisations have been run for the last 100 years. We try to report on ideas coming over the horizon, just before they start being talked about. We hope it is an exhilarating ride.
