We're still spellbound by names - the pronunciation, the spelling, the meaning. We found Jeremy Fieldsend name-makeover entrancing. I've long since stopped wondering why, with such a simple name like Fieldsend, that it should cause such confusion.
I've stopped counting the odd variations which it's suffered: Fieldbent, Fieldrack and Fillibund.
But the best was when I had completed a form to register a company at Companies House. When the Registration documents duly arrived back, I was listed not, as I had every reason to expect as Jeremy Fieldsend, but as the altogether more interesting Tiff Sunbacon. Which I have to say, I rather liked.
