While they were in South Africa, their son Jody, now in his 20s, met and fell in love with Kristin, who's from Thailand. The couple planned to live together in the UK, but first Kristin had to go back to Thailand to get the paperwork sorted, and eventually Jody joined her there. Not long after, Kristin became pregnant, so the couple decided to stay in Thailand until the baby was born. But then something went horribly wrong.
