The Benson family is not your average your nuclear unit. There was one Mr Benson - the late David Benson - and no less than four Mrs Bensons. The first Mrs Benson was David's mum. The second was his first wife, Sylvia. Then came wife number two, Linda. And wife number three made the fourth Mrs Benson - Florence. Unusually, all three wives and their various children got along and became a kind of laterally extended family unit. Linda, Mrs Benson number three told David Stafford about it.
