Jean and her husband Steve have now been together for nearly fourteen years, and married for seven. When they first met it was not an easy time for Jean; she was 37 and a mature student at Leicester University, with two small children, aged eight and four. Eight weeks before her finals, her 2nd marriage to the childrens' father collapsed and Jean left the marital home, taking her children with her. The little family subsequently moved into a large house near the University but had to take in lodgers to make ends meet. One was an old friend, Andrew and it was Andrew who recommended Steve,then a twenty year old maths student.
The new household got to know one another, settled into a comfortable rhythm but for two of them feelings began to change and grow.
