Magic moments

Listen to the item

James Tetlow is 16 and an accomplished young magician and a member of the Junior Magic Circle. Recently he had his very first professional engagement as a magician at a dinner dance in aid of Mencap where he wowed the diners with his close-up magic and sleight of hand.

Nice, but not too extraordinary you may be thinking - except that it was something that James's proud parents had never ever expected to see. James has Down's Syndrome but he's been intrigued by magic ever since he first encountered it at a party when he was 11 years old.

James' mentor and friend is Graham Mitchell. Graham is a professional magician and comedian and James' teacher. Judy Herman went to meet them both at the Tetlow's home.
