Insect Circus

Listen to the item

Mark Copeland's Insect Circus is a magical place. Contained entirely within a medium-sized van decorated in appropriate Romany style, it features little carts pulled by black beetles, wasp tamers and performing snails. No animals are harmed or humiliated in the execution of these feats because this is a Mechanical Menagerie.

Mark Copeland, the inventor and ringmaster, is an artist who three years ago suddenly found himself beguiled and enchanted by the world of the small.

Home Truths reporter, Melissa Viney, went along to investigate the intricate world of the Insect Circus Museum.
