The 59 club (so called because it was formed in 1959), was started in London as a church youth club exclusively for outlawed bikers who were refused entry in most other places.
Father Graham Hullett, himself a leather-clad motorbike enthusiast, came on the scene in the early 60's and took over its running. At its peak, the 59 Club boasted over 11,000 members and was the oldest, biggest and most successful youth club in the country.
Recently Father Graham was taken on a tour of the Royal Enfield Motorcycle Works, near Oxford, by former members of the club who'd arranged a big surprise for him.
