Christopher Lambert is a modern day pilgrim.
As a retired architect, he was slightly ashamed that he'd never visited Rome. In July 2000 he decided to put that right. He made his plans, and to satifsy his wife, Mary's, curiosity about the route he would take, he drew on a map a blue line from Le Havre to Rome.
Christopher travelled light, but included a sketch book in his rucksack. His journey took him 71 days and at the end of it, along with his sore feet, he had a diary of his travels and some beautiful drawings of the places he'd visited along the way.
